The Official Hot 97/ BET Caribana 2011 Party is celebrating its 11th anniversary this year in style. On Sunday, July 31st more than 20 of North America’s top Hip Hop, R & B, Soca, Calypso and Reggae DJs and artists are set to perform the hottest tracks in urban music today. This 2011 Caribana event is so popular, the entire Guvernment Nightclub complex is devoted to it. The Kool Haus (normally considered a separate venue), the Orange Room and of course the spacious rooftop lounge Sky Bar, will all be dedicated to the 2011 Hot 97 / BET incredible anniversary event.

Last year's pairing of BET and Hot 97 was a huge success, attracting a full capacity crowd of over 5,000 people and featured guests such as Young Jeezy, Fabolous, Red Cafe, Dru and Lil X . Artists set to play this Sunday Caribana event include DJ Enuff, iLL Kidz, Fire Kid Steenie, DJ Clymaxxx, with HUGE Stars set to return. The rumour is that a couple of additional "big name" acts are set to sign up on to this one - so stay tuned!

Hot Tip: With beautiful weather - and July/ August always makes good on this promise - the Sky Bar (Guvernment's top level) is the place to be on this night. This open air lounge is one of Toronto's most intoxicating places to be. Imagine the city's sky line just behind the stage, beautiful people dancing & grinding, plenty of plushy couches to relax on and several bars serving your favourite drinks.

"ANGEL HAIr for KIDS" A CHild's VOice FUND* - Ocean 49 & GQ Ent FUND Raiser

You've been invited to be a part of a night dedicated to trying to make a difference in the lives of children who have been through, and are living through,the most courageous battles of their lives.

Most of us cannot even imagine what it would be like to endure the pain and sickness that comes along with illnesses as serious as the ones that afflict the children we are aiming to help on this evening.

My daughter, Rhiann, started growing her hair about 2 years ago so that she could donate it to this worthy cause and along the way, and in co-ordination with some good friends and family, decided that she could possibly inspire others to do what they could to help as well.

I spoke with (GQ Walker, GQ Da' MC) about Rhiann's idea to donate her hair, and after having watched his own Mother suffer and ultimately lose her battle with Cancer, GQ jumped at the chance to do something to make these kids lives a little bit easier. GQ suggested a fantastic group of people and a venue (Ocean 49) that he thought would be perfect for this event and together we created the fundraiser you are invited to today.
